ADHD: Can Omegor Twinefa be used?

Hello! My 8-year-old child is hyperactive with attention deficit. I bought Omegor TwinEFA for him before fully understanding that the most suitable product is VitaDHA liquid. Omegor TwinEFA contains 10 mg of vitamin E per capsule. Can I give this product to my child and at what dose?

Dear Anyuta,

Children affected by attention deficit and hyperactivity (ADHD) often show a deficiency of omega-3 DHA in their blood. DHA is an essential component of the cell membranes of nerve cells and the retina, and plays a fundamental role in mediating processes that allow signal transmission between neurons. Since you have already purchased it, you can safely use Omegor TwinEFA until it runs out.

Each capsule of Omegor TwinEFA contains 525 milligrams of DHA, 1050 mg of EPA, 90 milligrams of gamma-linolenic acid from borage oil, and 30 milligrams of vitamin E. The orange flavor makes the product easy to chew, but if your child has difficulty with the capsule size, you can pierce it and squeeze out the liquid, mixing it with cold strawberry or banana yogurt if desired.

The recommended dose is 2 capsules per day. For the next purchase, I suggest discussing with your child’s pediatrician the option of VitaDHA 1000, a dietary supplement in capsules. This formula is rich and concentrated in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA Plus) derived from purified and deodorized fish oil by multiple molecular distillation. The DHA Plus in VitaDHA 1000 is highly bioavailable because it is in the natural triglyceride form, easily absorbed by the body. I recommend 2-3 capsules per day of VitaDHA 1000 before a main meal.

If your son cannot swallow capsules, I recommend a liquid alternative with the same content characteristics: VitaDHA liquid. VitaDHA liquid contains an even purer and more natural fish oil produced with a refining process that preserves the natural form of the oil as much as possible, keeps it stable longer, and gives it a neutral taste. The formulation is also completed with lemon flavor.

I recommend one vial every other day of VitaDHA liquid before a main meal, or it can be added to cold foods such as yogurt or spreadable cheese.

Please remember that dietary supplements are not to be considered a therapy, but only a nutritional support.
