Does VitaDHA Baby children's supplement have an IFOS certification?
Dear Sir,
The VITADHA Baby children's supplement is not IFOS certified, but the fish oil used for its production is pharmaceutical grade and ultra-purified through a multiple molecular distillation process, which is the only method capable of guaranteeing the absolute absence of heavy metals and pesticides. I would like to inform you that our company uses only fish oils with certified purity, which conform to and exceed the strict standards of GOED (Global Organization on EPA and DHA), of which we are members, and the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN).
Below is a table showing typical values for batches of the child development supplement VitaDHA Baby compared to the limits set by the European Commission for contaminants and the standards of IFOS and CRN/GOED.
Main contaminants tested | CRN/GOED Standard | EC Reg. 1881/2006 and amendments | IFOS Standard | Typical values in VitaDHA Baby batches | |||||
| Arsenic (As) | ≤ 0.1 ppm | ≤ 1 ppm | ≤ 0.1 ppm | < 0.1 ppm (mg/Kg) | |||||
| Mercury (Hg) | ≤ 0.1 ppm | ≤ 1 ppm | ≤ 0.1 ppm | < 0.005 ppm (mg/Kg) | |||||
| Lead (Pb) | ≤ 0.1 ppm | ≤ 0.1 ppm | ≤ 0.1 ppm | < 0.025 ppm (mg/Kg) | |||||
| Cadmium (Cd) | ≤ 0.1 ppm | ≤ 0.1 ppm | ≤ 0.1 ppm | < 0.005 ppm (mg/Kg) | |||||
| Dioxins and Furans | ≤ 2 ppt | ≤ 1.75 ppt | ≤ 1.0 ppt | < 1.0 ppt (pg/g) | |||||
| PCBs | ≤ 90 ppb | ≤ 200 ppb | ≤ 45 ppb | < 0.01 ppm (mg/Kg)= < 10 ppb (µg/Kg) |
Attached you will find the certificate of analysis of the fish oil used for the latest production batch.
Best regards,
Dr. Rosaria Ramondino Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Chemist
