Are Eskim and Meaquor really the same?
Dear Antimo,
I would like to clarify that Eskim 1000, like Seacor and Esapent, are medications, while Meaquor is a dietary supplement. Their fields of application are therefore quite distinct. Following the advice of your doctor, thanks to its content of omega-3 EPA and DHA, you may use Meaquor in the following cases:
- to maintain normal blood triglyceride levels with a daily intake of 2,000 mg of EPA and DHA – 2 Meaquor capsules provide 1800 mg.
- to maintain normal blood pressure with a daily intake of 3,000 mg of EPA + DHA – 3 Meaquor capsules provide 2700 mg.
- to maintain normal heart function with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA + DHA – 1 Meaquor capsule provides 900 mg.
- to maintain normal brain and visual functions with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA – 1 Meaquor capsule provides about 400 mg, more than sufficient.
Meaquor is designed as a high-concentration omega-3 fatty acid supplement (900 mg of EPA and DHA per capsule) useful when sufficient intake cannot be achieved through diet. Regarding the quality of Meaquor, I can assure you that it is produced using pharmaceutical-grade fish oil that is ultra-purified and concentrated by multiple molecular distillation to guarantee virtually total absence of contaminants while maintaining a high concentration of EPA and DHA omega-3s.
Our company uses only certified-purity fish oils, and all product batches conform to and exceed the stringent standards of GOED (Global Organization on EPA and DHA), of which we are members, the same IFOS standards. You can find further information and certificates of analysis of recent batches at this link. Additionally, here is a table showing typical heavy metal values in Meaquor batches compared to limits set by the European Commission and IFOS and CRN/GOED standards.
| Contaminants | IFOS/GOED Standard | EC Reg. 1881/2006 | Meaquor Batch Values |
| Arsenic (As) | ≤ 0.1 mg/kg | ≤ 1 mg/kg | <0.02 mg/kg |
| Mercury (Hg) | ≤ 0.1 mg/kg | ≤ 1 mg/kg | <0.005 mg/kg |
| Lead (Pb) | ≤ 0.1 mg/kg | ≤ 0.1 mg/kg | <0.01 mg/kg |
| Cadmium (Cd) | ≤ 0.1 mg/kg | ≤ 0.1 mg/kg | <0.005 mg/kg |
