Is there an Omega-3 supplement similar to Eskim 1000?
Dear Michele,
thank you for writing to us. Although you didn’t specify the name of the supplement in your message, I believe your question refers to our dietary supplement Meaquor.
Meaquor consists of a soft gelatin capsule of highly purified and concentrated fish oil, containing Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA at 900 mg per capsule.
The Omega-3s are in the form of ethyl esters (EE). Each capsule contains 500 mg of EPA and 400 mg of DHA: the highest per-capsule concentration available on the market for an Omega-3 fatty acid supplement. Each pack contains 30 capsules and costs €15.90.
Although Meaquor may appear similar in composition, it is important to clarify that Eskim is a drug, while Meaquor is a dietary supplement. Therefore, their intended uses are quite different: the drug is used for treatment and prevention of diseases, while the supplement has solely nutritional and physiological effects to support normal bodily functions. With your doctor’s approval, thanks to its EPA and DHA content, you may use Meaquor in the following cases:
- to maintain normal triglyceride levels in the blood with a daily intake of 2,000 mg of EPA and DHA – 2 Meaquor capsules provide 1,800 mg;
- to maintain normal blood pressure with a daily intake of 3,000 mg of EPA + DHA – 3 Meaquor capsules provide 2,700 mg;
- to maintain normal heart function with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA + DHA – 1 Meaquor capsule provides 900 mg;
- to support normal brain and visual function with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA – 1 Meaquor capsule provides about 400 mg, which is more than sufficient.
I remain available for any further questions and send you my warmest regards.
