Which is better for children: Omegor Kids or Mind?
What do you recommend for a 9-year-old child, Omegor Mind or Omegor Kids chewables? Thank you.
Dear Sir,
For children of your son’s age, both products you mention—Omegor Mind and Kids—are valid options. Choosing one or the other depends on the child’s needs: for example, if the child does not have particular learning difficulties, products from the Omegor Kids line such as Omegor Kids chewables and Omegor Kids syrup are perfectly fine.
Below is an overview of the Omegor products that may benefit children like your son, with specified dosages for children:
- Omegor Kids chewable capsules
Omegor Kids chewable capsules are a supplement based on fish oil, rich in omega-3 DHA (250 mg per daily dose) and vitamins A, C, D3, and E, offered in blackcurrant-flavored chewable capsules. The dosage is 2 capsules per day, to be taken at any time of the day.
The capsules can be chewed until the coating dissolves completely in the mouth or, after chewing and swallowing the inner content, the capsule shell can be discarded as it contains no nutrients—it is made only of edible gelatin, glycerol, colorings, and flavorings.
- Omegor Kids syrup
Omegor Kids syrup is a dietary supplement based on algal oil, rich in omega-3 DHA and EPA and vitamins C and D3 in a pleasant honey emulsion. The dose is 1 measuring spoon (5 ml) per day, which can be given to your child at any time of the day, for example at breakfast or snack time. The emulsion can be taken as is or added to yogurt, fruit, spreadable cheeses, or smoothies.
- Omegor Mind
Regarding Omegor Mind, it is a swallowable capsule supplement based on omega-3 EPA and DHA, omega-6 GLA, a clinically tested Bacopa monnieri extract—Bacomind®—optimal levels of all B vitamins, zinc, and vitamin C.
The Bacopa extract used in Omegor Mind was tested over 4 months on children aged between 4 and 18 years with learning deficits. This extract showed improvement in various memory-related functions (working memory, logical memory, personal life memory, visual and auditory memory). The dosage used in this study (225 mg/day) corresponds to the Bacomind dosage present in 2 capsules of Omegor Mind.
The recommended dose is indeed 2 capsules per day to be taken with a meal—breakfast, lunch, or dinner. In summary, from what has been said, Omegor Kids chewable and syrup products are absolutely suitable to supplement a child’s diet to ensure they receive omega-3 fatty acids that they might not get through their diet, especially if they don’t like fish or eat little of it; whereas Omegor Mind is recommended if you want to improve learning abilities in a child who shows difficulties at school. I remain available for further information.
