High Cholesterol, Which is Better: Cardiol or Cardiol Forte?

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to ask if it is better to take Cardiol or Cardiol Forte to lower cholesterol? Also, since I need to take Eutirox (thyroid hormone), can I take Cardiol which contains soy? If I can take Cardiol at the same time, can I also take Omegor Vitality? Thank you for your attention and I look forward to your kind reply. Best regards, Luciano Pandolfi

Dear Luciano,

Not knowing the cholesterol levels you normally find in your tests, I am providing below the characteristics of the products Cardiol and Cardiol Forte: In case of borderline cholesterol, with values above 200 mg/dL and up to 239 mg/dL, the most suitable product is definitely Cardiol, which contains omega-3 from fish oil and fermented red rice, a source of monacolin K (3 mg/capsule), the natural statin useful for maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels.

The product also contains policosanols, citrus bioflavonoids, and some B vitamins useful for normalizing cholesterol levels. The recommended dose for Cardiol is one softgel per day to be taken shortly before dinner for a period of at least 2 months, together with a balanced diet.

After this period, it is preferable to repeat blood tests to check the effectiveness of the treatment. Cardiol does not contain soy; the only allergens present are fish and sesame. In case of higher cholesterol values (>240 mg/dL), Cardiol Forte is recommended, which has a higher dose of monacolin K (10 mg/capsule). In this case, the recommended dose is also 1 softgel taken in the evening for two months, after which routine tests should be repeated.

The allergens present in Cardiol Forte are fish and soy because each capsule contains 10 mg of soy lecithin used as an emulsifier. This is a low daily dose that should not interfere with thyroid function or the intake of Eutirox, but I recommend consulting your doctor about this. Both products can be combined with 1-2 capsules of Omegor Vitality 1000 (pack of 30 or 45 capsules) to be taken close to a main meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner).

I remain available for further information.
