How to combat the discomforts of menopause?
Good morning, I’m here to ask for your advice. I’m undecided whether to take Cardiol Forte or Omegor Antiage. I am a young woman who has undergone removal of the uterus and ovaries as well as the entire colon. I am not on hormone therapy, so I am looking for supplements that can both give me energy and counteract the effects of menopause (osteoporosis, mild blood pressure fluctuations, aging of the skin and hair). I believe one of these two products suits my needs, but I don’t know which, since I also need to supplement with B vitamins. The only thing is that I am taking antidepressants and anxiolytics (Entact and Xanax) to counteract menopausal signs and symptoms. I’m not sure if there are contraindications with these supplements. What do you recommend?
Dear Rita,
The product I recommend is Omegor Antiage because it is the most suitable to counteract the menopausal effects you mentioned. This product has an innovative and balanced formulation that combines:
- marine omega-3s
- omega-6 from borage oil
- a pool of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actives such as resveratrol, curcumin, coenzyme Q10, and alpha-lipoic acid.
The combination of antioxidants, omega-3, and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) from borage oil helps slow down skin aging (loss of elasticity, dryness, etc.), promotes good mood, and helps reduce hot flashes and typical menopausal discomforts.
An Italian clinical study (Campagnoli et al., 2005) conducted over 24 weeks showed a significant reduction of hot flashes following supplementation with fish oil and borage oil. According to the researchers, this result is due to the stabilizing effect of polyunsaturated fatty acids on the membranes of nervous system cells: omega-3 EPA, DHA, and GLA influence the serotonergic system that regulates hypothalamic centers of thermoregulation, allowing a reduction in hot flashes. Furthermore, the omega-3 and GLA combination promotes the reduction of inflammatory prostaglandin levels (e.g., PGE2), hormones responsible for bone resorption and involved in mood imbalance as well as the onset of skin disorders such as dryness, eczema, psoriasis, etc. In short, Omegor Antiage is the most indicated product in your case.
- The recommended dosage is 1 capsule per day, to be taken with a meal
- You can take Omegor Antiage even concomitantly with the medications you are currently using (Entact and Xanax).
Menopause: differences between Omegor Antiage and Cardiol Forte
Cardiol Forte is instead recommended in cases of high cholesterol levels above 240 mg/dl because it contains monacolin K in its formulation, the natural statin from fermented red yeast rice that helps maintain normal blood cholesterol concentrations. I remain at your disposal for any further information.
