Is Meaquor ok instead of Eskim? How do you make fish oil?
Good morning, I want to tell you right away that Meaquor and Eskim cannot be exactly equivalent, because:
- Meaquor is a dietary supplement
- Eskim is instead a drug which, if prescribed with a note as in your case, can be reimbursed by the National Health Service (NHS).
Dietary supplements are not reimbursable by the NHS. However, despite being a supplement, Meaquor has a high concentration of omega‐3 EPA and DHA – providing per capsule 500 mg of EPA and 400 mg of DHA. Precisely because of its concentration and quality, Meaquor is recommended by us and many doctors as a valid alternative to medicinal specialties – like Eskim – when these are not prescribable under reimbursement. In fact, using Meaquor allows you to get a high intake of EPA and DHA while containing treatment costs.
I recommend consulting your doctor before replacing Eskim with Meaquor – Meaquor’s quality is certified by independent bodies.
Fish Oil Purity: What Guarantees?
Now I move on to your second question. The fish oil we use is obtained from anchovies through a cutting-edge production process certified by IFOS. Let me explain better:
- Anchovies. Regarding the raw material, the fish oil we use for producing Meaquor is extracted from anchovies, small fish that generally accumulate fewer contaminants compared to large fish.
- Short Path Distillation. But purity is also guaranteed by the production process: the crude fish oil obtained from extraction is purified and concentrated in omega‐3 through multiple cycles of molecular distillation – the Short Path Distillation – a technological process able to remove free fatty acids, colored pigments, trans fatty acids, and contaminants commonly found in fish – such as the heavy metals you mentioned, PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), dioxins, and furans.
- IFOS. To guarantee purity and quality, every batch of Meaquor is then tested by the independent Canadian laboratory IFOS and each batch receives the maximum rating of 5 stars. You can consult here the analysis certificate of Meaquor.
