Ask the Pharmacist

Newborns and omega-3, which supplement?

Dear Dr. Ramondino, I would like to know which omega-3 supplement is specific for newborns.. thank you

Dear Madam,

the product in our supplement line designed for newborns and indicated from 0 to 2 years is the new VitaDHA Baby drops. VitaDHA Baby drops is a dietary supplement based on algal oil with a high content of DHA enriched with Vitamins D3 and E. The recommended dose for newborns is 1 ml per day - to be divided into two administrations of 0.5 ml each, using the graduated dropper. These are the benefits the newborn may gain from supplementation with VitaDHA Baby:

  • visual capabilities
  • bone development
  • immune system

1 ml of VitaDHA Baby drops provides 100 mg of DHA, which is the recommended dosage to support the normal development of visual capabilities in infants up to 12 months of age. Moreover, VitaDHA Baby drops also contains vitamin D – necessary for normal growth and normal development of children’s bones and for the proper functioning of the immune system

The formulation has a delicate milk and cream flavor, making it pleasant even for the youngest infants. I remain at your disposal for further information.
