Omega-3 for a 22-Year-Old Girl: What's the Right Dosage?
Dear Roberto,
Supplementation with essential Omega-3 fatty acids is important at every age, both for healthy individuals and those affected by various conditions. The ISSFAL (International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids) recommends a minimum daily dose of 500 milligrams of Omega-3 EPA and DHA for healthy adults. For a woman with a moderate level of physical activity, the daily amount of EPA and DHA should range from 800 to 1400 milligrams, corresponding to 1-2 softgels of Omegor Vitality 1000 (or 2-4 softgels of Vitality 500). The Omega-3s in Vitality are present in a 2:1 ratio, ideal for promoting cardiovascular health as well as aiding in reducing inflammation, which in some cases is subclinical and manifests through various disorders:
- headache
- malaise
- dry skin
- digestive system disorders
- anxiety
- depression
The Omegor Vitality softgels should be taken before a main meal to facilitate absorption. Omegor Krill is our new product: a supplement based on pure lipid extract of krill indicated to combat psychophysical stress as well as improve concentration capacity. For example, it is ideal for facing periods of intense study or particularly demanding work situations.
The krill oil is a complex of Omega-3 EPA and DHA fatty acids in the form of phospholipids and the carotenoid astaxanthin. It allows benefiting from the preventive anti-inflammatory effect of Omega-3 and the powerful antioxidant action of astaxanthin.
The recommended dose is 2 capsules per day, to be taken shortly before or during meals.
