What are the interactions between drugs and Cardiol?

Dear Sir,

Before discussing possible interactions between medications and supplements, I would like to answer your question about the ways to take Cardiol. Both indications are correct, so you can choose which one to follow. However, please consider that taking Cardiol in the evening shortly before dinner can increase the effectiveness of Cardiol. Cardiol is a dietary supplement based on fermented red rice, a plant extract that is a source of monacolin K. Monacolin K is a natural statin, and like all statins, it works by blocking cholesterol synthesis that occurs at night in liver cells. Taking monacolin K from red rice in the evening hours therefore allows for a better effect on cholesterol levels: for this reason, it is preferable to take the Cardiol capsule in the evening. Regarding interactions between medications and Cardiol, precisely to avoid possible interactions with Dimalosio Complex, my advice is to:

  • space out the administrations by at least an hour and a half to two hours;
  • or alternatively, Dimalosio Complex could also be taken close to lunch, if that does not cause any issues.

I remain available for any further clarifications.

Best regards,
