What is the most correct dose to take of Omegor Krill and why are there no capsules with higher doses of Krill oil?
Good morning, I am a 25-year-old who practices sports. I regularly take up to six Omegor Vitality capsules per day and I am satisfied with it. I would like to try Omegor Krill and would like to know the approximate correct dose to take because in the nutritional table I see that the concentrations of EPA and DHA are much lower per capsule compared to the other product. I don’t know how to manage this. One last thing, why not make Omegor Krill capsules with higher doses per capsule? I look forward to your reply if possible. Best regards and good work!
Dear Luca,
The product Omegor Krill contains omega-3 fatty acids bound to phospholipids in a structure that is completely different from the forms normally present in fish oils. This unique structure makes the omega-3s in Krill highly absorbable by our body and therefore effective at lower doses.
If you practice a sport that requires high concentration and nervous system reactivity, then Omegor Krill is the most suitable product for you because at a dose of 2 capsules per day it provides significant effects on psychophysical condition.
The omega-3s in phospholipid form present in krill oil selectively accumulate in the nervous system and red blood cell membranes, and additionally this oil naturally contains the antioxidant astaxanthin.
I recommend taking the two Omegor Krill capsules close to a meal and preferably in the earlier part of the day. Regarding the recommended daily dose, it is not possible to increase the amount of oil per capsule or per dose because in Europe krill oil is classified as a “novel food,” meaning it is a new food ingredient considered uncommon.
This novel food status means that the characteristics of krill oil, from extraction methods to the concentrations of omega-3 EPA and DHA that can be reached, are regulated in Europe by a European Commission Decision dated October 12, 2009 (Decision 2009/752/EC). The maximum approved EPA+DHA intake from krill oil for the dietary supplements category was initially 200 mg of EPA+DHA and was increased to 250 mg at the end of 2012.
Two capsules per day of Omegor Krill contain 1 g of krill oil and allow reaching the daily intake of 200 mg EPA+DHA. I hope I have answered your question and I invite you to contact us again for further information.
Best regards,
