Which omega-3 supplement do you recommend for school-age children?
Which omega-3 supplement for children is recommended for preschool and school-age years? Thank you.
The omega-3 supplement Omegor Kids is specifically formulated for preschool and school-age children. It contains plant-based omega-3 DHA from microalgae oil in honey syrup flavored with orange, along with Vitamin D3, useful for bone growth, and Vitamin C, beneficial for the immune system.
The omega-3 fatty acid DHA is a fundamental component of the membranes of central nervous system cells and is important for maintaining normal brain functions and visual abilities. Vitamin D is necessary for the growth and development of children's bones, while Vitamin C helps energy metabolism. Vitamins C and D together support immune system function.
The recommended dose of Omegor Kids is one sachet per day to be taken as is or mixed with plain or citrus-flavored yogurt. This way, the omega-3s are optimally absorbed and the taste will be pleasantly like honey yogurt. It is not necessary to take it on a full stomach, making Omegor Kids very practical as it can be taken anywhere and at any time of the day.
Below is the full composition:
- Honey
- Oil with a high DHA content derived from the microalga Schizochytrium sp. (sunflower oil, sunflower lecithin, rosemary extract, tocopherols, ascorbyl palmitate)
- Concentrated orange juice
- Water
- Concentrated pear juice
- Concentrated lemon juice
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D3
- Emulsifier: polysorbate 20
- Preservative: potassium sorbate
We recommend taking 2-3 month cycles of use followed by a 1-month break between cycles. The product is generally well tolerated and no side effects are known. I invite you to inform the pediatrician of the decision to start dietary supplementation with Omegor Kids and to inform him/her of any dietary changes you will make for your child.
Best regards and I remain available for further information.
