ADHD and Hyperactivity: Can Omega-3 Help My Child?

Dear Madam,

Typically, children who show ADHD or attention and hyperactivity disorders benefit from taking omega‐3 DHA. Indeed, disorders such as hyperactivity, ADHD, and attention deficits are often linked to specific deficiencies in this fatty acid — which plays a crucial structural role in the nervous system and retina.

Supplementing these nutrients through diet can only be beneficial. Therefore, based on what you described, VitaDHA single-dose vials are probably the most suitable product for your 5-year-old child.

  • You can start with a dosage of half a vial per day or one vial every other day for the first two weeks of supplementation;
  • then you can increase the dosage to 1 vial per day, planning supplementation for at least 2 months.

The oil can be taken directly from the vial or poured onto a spoon, as it is odorless and tasteless and flavored with lemon; alternatively, it can be added to plain yogurt, fruit, soft cheeses, or smoothies. However, it seems that no formal ADHD diagnosis has been made for your child: therefore, if you decide to start supplementation with VitaDHA, I recommend discussing it first with your pediatrician.

I remain available for further information.
