Cardiol and Cardiol Forte: what's the difference?

Dear Sirs, I take omega-3 at a dosage of 1 capsule of 1000 mg per day for cholesterol control. I would like to add your product Cardiol to this, but I have seen that there is now the new formula Cardiol Forte. What is the difference between the two? What do you recommend? Thank you

Dear Marco,

Both Cardiol and Cardiol Forte have been formulated to help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels but are recommended in different situations.

  • For borderline cholesterol with values above 200 mg/dL and up to 239 mg/dL, the more suitable product is definitely Cardiol, which contains omega-3, plant extracts such as red yeast rice (source of monacolin K at 3 mg/capsule) to help normalize blood cholesterol levels, plus policosanols, Citrus bioflavonoids, and B vitamins.
  • For higher blood cholesterol values (>240 mg/dL), it is advisable to choose Cardiol Forte, which has a higher dose of monacolin K (10 mg/capsule), the natural statin useful for maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels.

Cardiol Forte is also enriched with hydroxytyrosol, a polyphenol from olive, and natural Vitamin E to protect blood lipids and cells from oxidative stress, along with a high dose of Coenzyme Q10 (100 mg/capsule) to compensate for deficiency that occurs during statin or statin-like treatments.

For both products, the dosage is one capsule per day to be taken in the evening before dinner for a period of at least two months, together with a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. After two months of supplementation, it is preferable to repeat blood tests to check the effectiveness of the treatment.

It is important that supplementation be done in agreement with the opinion of your doctor, so I invite you to discuss with him/her the possibility of taking one of the two products. I remain available for further information.

Best regards,
