Cholesterol, I've improved. Should I continue with Cardiol Forte?

Good morning, I am 50 years old, I have been taking Cardiol Forte for about 5 months continuously with an appropriate diet and moderate aerobic physical activity. My lipid profile is as follows: total cholesterol 216 (275 at the start of supplementation), LDL 149 (193 at the start of supplementation), HDL 50 (46 at the start of supplementation), triglycerides 87 (178 at the start of supplementation). Should I stop the supplementation or can I continue without problems? Thank you

Dear Sir,

Cholesterol is continuously produced by our body, therefore it is advisable not to stop supplementation with Cardiol Forte, otherwise cholesterol levels would rise again.

Cholesterol, why Cardiol Forte?

I am glad to hear about the improvements you have seen in your cholesterol profile. Cardiol Forte is a dietary supplement that contains a high amount of Monacolin K: the natural statin from fermented red yeast rice (10 mg/capsule) which has demonstrated:

  • to help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels;
  • it has also shown a good tolerability profile. In fact, the product is generally well tolerated even by subjects intolerant to synthetic statin treatment.

Furthermore, in the formulation of Cardiol Forte we tried to minimize the possible side effects typical of statin treatment – such as limb myopathy, i.e. muscle pain – by including a high amount of Coenzyme Q10 (100 mg/capsule).

  • In those undergoing statin treatment for cholesterol control, deficiency of this antioxidant is common.
  • For this reason, during statin treatment, supplementation with Coenzyme Q10 becomes essential to prevent myopathy or worsening of this condition related to statin use.

I remain available for further information.
