Cholesterol Control, What Can I Take Instead of Statins?

I underwent angioplasty in 2002, and since then, I have been taking statin tablets (simvastatin, cardioaspirin, seles beta, plaunazide, prescribed by the hospital). Now, after switching through various statin-containing types due to leg muscle cramps, I take Provisacor 10 mg. However, it still contains statins, and the pain persists. Is there any other pill that doesn’t contain statins but keeps cholesterol levels low? Thank you.

Dear Gabriele,

I suggest that you consult with your treating physician about the possibility of using Eulipid to manage cholesterol levels in the blood. Eulipid is a dietary supplement in tablet form that does not contain fish oil or natural statins. Its main component is Berberine, a plant-based substance that, as demonstrated by several scientific studies, increases the liver's "capture" of cholesterol. It is also effective in controlling blood sugar immediately after meals and other pathological manifestations typical of Metabolic Syndrome.

Eulipid also contains bioflavonoids from citrus and policosanols, which, along with resveratrol, tocotrienols, and CoQ10, are helpful in balancing total cholesterol levels, "bad" cholesterol, and triglycerides in the blood. Thanks to its formulation, Eulipid can be a valid alternative for treating dyslipidemia (as well as metabolic syndrome), especially in cases of poor response or intolerance to statins, allowing for satisfactory control of borderline cholesterol levels up to 239 mg/dl.

The recommended daily dose of Eulipid is 1 tablet per day, preferably taken before dinner, for a minimum of 8 weeks. After that, it is advisable to repeat routine blood tests to assess the effectiveness of the supplementation. I recommend discussing with your treating physician the possibility of replacing your current medication with the Eulipid supplement, and I invite you to contact us for further information.
