Cholesterol – Is There an Alternative to Statins?

Dear Doctor, I came across the Omegor website looking for an alternative to statins, which I have been taking for just over two years to keep my LDL cholesterol levels under control. I currently take one tablet of Crestor 20 mg daily, and I would like to stop, but I do not want to risk an increase in LDL levels. What do you recommend? I should note that I am not overweight but have had a breast cancer issue in the past treated with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Thank you for your attention. Regards, Rosaria

Dear Rosaria,

To help control cholesterol, I recommend discussing with your doctor the possibility of replacing Crestor 20 mg with the product Cardiol Forte.

Cardiol Forte is a dietary supplement based on:

  • omega-3 from fish oil
  • monacolin K (10 mg per capsule) - the natural statin from fermented red yeast rice
  • Coenzyme Q10.

This formulation is recommended to help control moderate cholesterol levels (moderate hypercholesterolemia - Total Cholesterol >240 mg/dL) because the presence of monacolin K at a 10 mg dosage promotes the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. Tolerability.

Cardiol Forte is useful whenever you want to act on excess cholesterol with a natural approach that is more easily tolerated than synthetic statins. Moreover, the tolerability of Cardiol Forte is optimized by the presence of a high dosage of Coenzyme Q10 per capsule (100 mg), which helps to compensate for the endogenous Coenzyme Q10 deficiency that arises during statin or statin-like treatments.

The recommended daily dose is one capsule of Cardiol Forte to be taken in the evening shortly before dinner. After a two-month supplementation period, it is advisable to repeat routine tests to verify effectiveness. Here you can find the product information sheet, which you can also share with your doctor to make a more informed decision together.

I recommend discussing and agreeing with your doctor on starting supplementation with Cardiol Forte.

I remain available for further information.

Best regards,
