For high cholesterol, which supplement is best?

I have high cholesterol (280) and I started taking your omega-3 supplement Omegor Vitality 60. Then I noticed other supplements, which, being in the "Cholesterol and Triglycerides" category, seem more suitable (Cardiol or others). What is the difference between these two groups of supplements?

Omegor Vitality is an omega-3 supplement containing EPA and DHA in the more bioavailable triglyceride form. Omega-3 fatty acids help balance triglycerides but are not particularly effective in lowering high cholesterol, especially LDL cholesterol. For this purpose, we recommend cholesterol and high triglyceride supplements like Cardiol and Cardiol Forte, which have more complex formulations specifically aimed at normalizing cholesterol levels.

  • Cardiol is a supplement for high cholesterol with values above 200 mg/dL and up to 239 mg/dL. The recommended dose is 1 to 3 capsules per day to be taken in the evening shortly before dinner for at least 2 months, alongside a balanced diet.
  • Cardiol Forte is indicated for higher cholesterol levels (>240 mg/dL) because it has a higher dose of monacolin K (10 mg/capsule) for maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels. In this case, the recommended dose is just 1 capsule per day taken in the evening for two months. In your case, with high cholesterol around 280 mg/dL,
  • the most suitable supplement is Cardiol Forte, combined with a balanced diet. I recommend discussing this with your doctor. To determine the duration and effectiveness of the supplementation, we advise running cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood glucose tests after 2 months of supplementation, along with routine checks of other parameters (blood count, liver enzymes, etc.).

I remain available for any further information.
