Fatty Liver Disease: Can Omega-3 Help Fight It?
Good morning. My cousin read that Omega-3s are also beneficial for fatty liver disease. Is this true? At what dosage? Thank you.
Dear Riccardo,
I confirm that in a condition such as fatty liver disease, EPA and DHA omega-3s can be a useful support. In particular, DHA can have significant effects on liver metabolism, protecting against the effects of a diet rich in saturated fats and carbohydrates, and the risk of metabolic diseases.
At this link you can find two articles published on our blog where results of studies conducted precisely on omega-3 supplementation in subjects with fatty liver disease are shown. The recommended dose of EPA + DHA omega-3 in case of fatty liver is 2-3 grams per day. This amount corresponds to about 3-4 capsules of the product Omegor Vitality 1000, to be taken shortly before or during meals.
