High Cholesterol and Triglycerides: What to Do If You Also Suffer from Fatty Liver Disease?

Question: Hello! In my latest blood tests my values came back elevated. Cholesterol 220, triglycerides 223, glucose 144, I am hypertensive and I have fatty liver... what can you recommend? Always under strict control of my doctor... thank you.

Dear Salvatore,

In your case, the most suitable product for your needs, which we would like to recommend, is Cardiol Forte, a dietary supplement based on omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA from fish oil, fermented red rice extract, olive extract standardized in hydroxytyrosol, and Coenzyme Q10. The formulation also includes vitamin E, piperine, and folic acid (important for the correct metabolism of homocysteine, a metabolite that in excess increases cardiovascular risk).

Furthermore, the intake of 250 mg per day of EPA and DHA contributes to normal heart function. Cardiol Forte also contains artichoke extract. This powdered extract obtained from the leaves of the artichoke Cynara cardunculus L. is standardized to 10% chlorogenic acid and derivatives (bioflavonoids) and 2% luteolin 7-glucoside and derivatives (flavonoids).

The bioflavonoids contained in the artichoke extract have choleretic, cholagogue, and hepatoprotective activity; furthermore, the flavonoids inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis and protect LDL from oxidative damage. Keep in mind that in the case of fatty liver disease, omega-3s can be helpful, especially DHA, as reported by some studies including the one on our blog.

Along with Cardiol, I recommend also taking Meaquor 1000, a dietary supplement with a high concentration of omega-3 DHA and EPA. Meaquor 1000 is particularly indicated to keep blood triglycerides and blood pressure under control.

With 2 grams per day of EPA and DHA you support the maintenance of normal triglyceride levels in the blood; this dosage is achievable with 2 capsules per day of Meaquor 1000 taken with a main meal. I also remind you to always follow a balanced diet and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Best regards,
