I have high cholesterol despite proper nutrition, what can I do?
Good morning, for several years I have had total cholesterol and LDL values above the norm; in the latest analysis total cholesterol was 232 with an LDL of 160, HDL 65, and triglycerides within the normal range. Even with a strict diet and moderate physical activity, the values have remained similar to those indicated, so much so that the doctor who follows me said that the excess cholesterol production depends on my body producing it. No doctor has ever proposed statins to me, partly due to my age (43 years) and partly because of consistently high HDL values. After this long introduction, I would like to ask which of your products could be most suitable for my needs. Thank you for any response.
Dear Alessandro,
In your case, the most suitable product we would recommend is Cardiol Forte, a dietary supplement based on omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA from fish oil, red yeast rice extract, olive extract standardized in Hydroxytyrosol, and Coenzyme Q10. The formulation also includes vitamin E, piperine, and folic acid (important for the proper metabolism of homocysteine, a metabolite that when elevated increases cardiovascular risk). Additionally, the intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA per day contributes to normal cardiac function.
Cardiol Forte also contains artichoke extract. This powdered extract obtained from the leaves of Cynara cardunculus L. is standardized to 10% chlorogenic acid and derivatives (biofenols) and 2% luteolin 7-glucoside and derivatives (flavonoids). The biofenols in the artichoke extract have cholagogue, choleretic, and hepatoprotective activities; furthermore, the flavonoids inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis and protect LDL from oxidative damage. The recommended dose for Cardiol Forte is 1 capsule per day to be taken in the evening close to dinner.
We naturally recommend informing your doctor of all dietary adjustments and dietary supplements you intend to adopt, as well as discussing the possibility of using our products, in order to decide together on the most appropriate therapy.
Best regards,
