Ask the Pharmacist

I practice Triathlon, which supplement is best for joints and post-workout recovery?

Dear Alessio,

For your needs, I consider the supplement Omegor Krill suitable, a product based on krill oil, a small crustacean living in Antarctic waters. Krill oil is rich in omega-3 EPA and DHA in phospholipid form, a structure that makes them easily absorbed and used by our body and increases their distribution in the nervous system and red blood cells.

Besides omega-3, Omegor Krill is a source of choline and astaxanthin. Choline is an essential molecule for our body that is part of cell membranes and is involved in nerve impulse transmission. Astaxanthin is a red pigment with activity that works as a natural preservative of the omega-3 fatty acids in the product. These characteristics make Omegor Krill particularly suitable for athletes and those who lead an intense lifestyle.

You could also combine this supplement with Omegor Twinefa, a product that, besides omega-3 EPA and DHA from fish oil, contains omega-6 GLA extracted from borage oil; this combination provides a strong anti-inflammatory action that helps prevent and reduce inflammation of tendons and joints due to prolonged sports training. Regarding the positive effects of omega-3 on sports performance, I recommend reading an article published on our blog.
