Omega-3 for a 12-Month-Old: Is It the Right Choice?

Dear Stefania,

your pediatrician is right in saying that it's appropriate to supplement your child's diet with Omega-3, and I would specifically recommend DHA.

It has indeed been shown that an adequate dietary intake of this fatty acid (Omega-3) supports the proper development of the central nervous system, as well as improvement in the child's intellectual, visual, and coordination abilities. The most suitable formulation for your child is VitaDHA liquid, a deodorized solution with a high DHA concentration (500 mg per 1 milliliter) and excellent digestibility (thanks to its triglyceride form). VitaDHA is a supplement designed to be well tolerated by very sensitive individuals, such as pregnant women and pediatric-age children. The recommended dose is from 1 to 3 milliliters per day, which can be mixed with cold (or even lukewarm) foods and beverages:

  • milk
  • fruit juices
  • creams
  • baby food

In this way, your child will be able to benefit from the positive effects of Omega-3 on health, without the burden of having to swallow a formulation with unpleasant taste and smell.

I hope I have answered your question as clearly as possible, we thank you for contacting us and invite you to write again whenever you find it necessary.
