Ask the Pharmacist

Type 2 diabetes and angina, which supplement is suitable?

Dear Debora,

In the case of type 2 diabetes, supplementation with the right amount of omega-3 EPA and DHA (at least 1 gram per day) can be useful to reduce the pro-inflammatory and pro-thrombotic state that characterizes this condition, as well as to support peripheral circulation and have a trophic effect on the retina and central nervous system.

Regarding the positive effects of omega-3 in the development of diabetic pathology, I invite you to read an article published on our blogI recommend your mother take 1 capsule per day of Meaquor, preferably near a main meal; it is also advisable in cases of angina pectoris.

Each capsule of Meaquor contains 900 mg of EPA and DHA, but of course this supplementation must be approved by the attending physician, especially if anticoagulant therapies are being taken. Therefore, I recommend evaluating with the doctor the possibility of integrating your mother's diet with Meaquor.

Kind regards,
